Naming Ceremonies

When that beautiful new baby is born, it is an opportunity to celebrate their arrival and the wonderful changes this will make in all your lives. Things will never be the same again!

A Naming Ceremony is a fitting way to celebrate the birth of your child – even if this ceremony sometimes does not occur for a few years after their arrival.

A Naming Ceremony can be held almost anywhere – but a child-friendly environment is obviously a good choice. Most favoured locations are the back garden of your home, or that of your grandparents or friends. A park is another venue which can work well.

I will create a ceremony which incorporates special aspects of your child, including how you chose their name. This ceremony can include special messages from family members and favourite verses of the parents or child, which they can keep and treasure forever.

As part of my service to you, I will give you, the parents, a Keepsake Copy of the ceremony, as well as a beautiful Naming Certificate. This can be framed or inserted in your child’s Album.

I will also present the Godparents with a Certificate for them to keep, as a memento of their lifelong commitment to your child.

I am also delighted to conduct Naming Ceremonies for older toddlers and children.

There are no legal or religious requirements or implications for a Naming Ceremony.
